VIVA LAS VEGAS!

A three night Christmas adventure in Las Vegas with my college students was the perfect amount of time.

The Chandelier at The Cosmopolitan

The Chandelier features 2 million luminous glass bead curtains of light,  draping over a  five story foyer. Its multi levels house three unique Las Vegas bar experiences.

In the heart of the strip, which is where I want to be, The Cosmopolitan blends  sophistication and style and is a worthy competitor to the best The Strip has to offer.  We were fortunate enough to get an upgrade which included an  oversized wraparound balcony (the balcony alone was 480 square feet!)  with panoramic views of the Vegas skyline and a direct view of the famous  Bellagio fountains. It goes without saying that the public areas are a people-watchers' paradise.   The largest pool is Boulevard which has several tiers and overlooks The Strip. If you desire a quiet getaway, The Cosmopolitan is not where you want to be. However if a  quiet getaway is what you are looking for than it is entirely  possible that this travel professional would not recommend Las Vegas as a destination for you!

                 I would recommend dining at the Eiffel Tower Restaurant, high atop the famed Las Vegas Strip.

Outstanding performance!

The Las Vegas from thirty years ago with the onslaught of buffets for $2.99 has reinvented itself.  Today the  upscale shopping, dining and night clubs are everywhere. The entertainment is top drawer and I could write a separate blog about our experience at The Chateau  Night Club.  (My suggestion is to go to several night clubs. There is quite a difference....not good or bad just different,  and they often don't really get started until 11pm.) Just a few of the names for the upcoming New Years Eve entertainment are Fergie, Celine Dion, Bruno Mars, Stevie Wonder, Chris Rock, and Kim Kardashian.
